Drumming with Kester… a new radio interview coming soon on WSVG 790AM and 1230AM. The music is delightful, hypnotic and energizing. The chat is informative and enlightening. And to my surprise Kester had me pounding out a tune in no time even after I had denied having rhythm.

Of course she claimed “Everyone of our generation knows We Will Rock You!” And I did. It was great fun chatting with her. She explained the dynamics of the jimbay drum and its origins and then made the drums wail. Had me dancing in the groove there for a few minutes.

Kester agreed to be the featured musician at my annual Strasburg Mayfest Parade Party that I began when I chaired the parade for a couple of years. It was a great way of enticing people to be in the parade. Serving up some Nathan’s Hot Dogs and having great music has been our gig ever since.

Marcy McCann's recent interview with Allon Lefever gave us an insight into what led to the recent awards the won by the Hampton Inn in Woodstock, Virginia.

Having the luxury of interviewing anyone I want too means showcasing the obvious and ferreting out the secretive. It affords me and thereby our listeners the opportunity to learn more about all kinds of interesting things and people. In fact my recent interview with Allon Lefever gave us an insight into what led to the recent awards the won by the Hampton Inn in Woodstock, Virginia.

Last week while in the WSVG studio we announced that the Hampton Inn and Suites in Woodstock achieved an all time first by ranking 1st in Customer Service in the Commonwealth of Virginia and 5th in the Nation in its first 14 weeks of being open!

We all have a story to tell and I’d love to give each person their 15 minutes of fame. Please feel free to suggest someone or something to me at Marcy@ltdprints.com.

Social Security – From young mother to retirement age widow. Who would have guessed that 21 to age 62 would go by in the blink of an eye! Well it has and I feel as spunky as I did those four speeding decades ago. My interviews for WSVG 790 AM are meant to inform and too inspire the listener and my latest, a conversation with David Melton the Pubic Service Coordinator for the Winchester, Virginia branch of the Social Security Administration, was very personal.

As a young widow Social Security was a very helpful and unexpected “Survivor’s” benefit. Now a short jump into the future, the retirement allowance from my late spouse’s earnings is again a blessing.

Chubbie Checker

Marcy McCann reporting on costume designing for WSVG 790 AM radio in Mt. Jackson, VA

I had the enjoyable experience of chatting with Tamara Carruthers today about her fascinating job as the resident costume designer for the second longest running theater in the state of Virginia. What a delighted person.

Tamara has been with the Wayside Theater in Middletown for the past 8 years.

Tamara’s costumes are always right on the money due to her extensive research and her ability to draw on donated wardrobe pieces as well as to purchase or make costumes.

Keep an eye on MyWholeFamily.com for all my latest interviews. Marcy McCann reporting for WSVG 790 AM radio in Mt. Jackson, VA

The interviews are recorded for WSVG at the poster and print studio of LtdPrints.com in Strasburg, Virginia.
