MyWholeFamily.com is proud to feature interviews with various champions of causes and promoters of good. Chelsea’s Tree a book for young step children was developed from a need to bridge the gaps caused by unequal footing in some blended families. Good coming from strife is what happens when we use our higher selves to overcome adversity.

That is what the Morehead Family of Strasburg, Virginia did by calling attention to the cancer that struck their son at the age of 31. Listen to Patsy as she speaks with me about how her family honors Michael through the Michael J. Morehead Memorial Scholarship Foundation.

Marquetta Mitchell featured speaker during December’s Women Celebrating Women

“Women Celebrating Women began as a way to showcase a Front Royal jewelery artist’s work and grew to a regular get together honoring the talents and work of a new woman each month.” said Marcy McCann author of Chelsea’s Tree and the group’s founder. Originally planned to run for six months the group proved so successful that it is moving into a new year with no end in sight.

December’s woman of the evening was Marquetta Mitchell a Strasburg, Virginia investment representative who shared about her early years going to segregated schools in an otherwise integrated community. She went on to explain how her early professional life led to Social work but transitioned into financial planning with Edwards Jones. Many in attendance that evening were effected by her emotional story of life’s travels and the “blessings” she related about living in her treasured home town.

Guests bring a snack to share while coffee, tea, and cake are provided by McCann. All women are welcome to attend at 6:00 PM the first Sunday of each month. The group meets at 234 West King Street in Strasburg at the office building of LtdPrints.com. Call 540-465-3878 or email Marcy@LtdPrints.com for further information.

Castle Murals and Castle Posters Murals for Children

Need to add a little color to your life. How about trying a custom wall mural!

Castle Murals and Castle Posters can add life to your home or office. Have you ever thought of adding a bit of color to a dark room or a faux window to a basement but just didn’t know where to start? We found the perfect solution.

Try using one of LtdPrints.com’s many bright mural options such as an aircraft mural, or one of their castle or wildlife murals. The newest castle mural is a photographic mural using an image taken by Connecticut photographer Michael Cavaliere. Set against a misty sky with the vivid greens of trees and the gold tones of the masonry this castle mural has a depth of field that truly makes one feel as if they are standing outside the castle ruins.

Try this in a windowless room such as a basement because the light coming through the windows gives the illusion of light coming into your room. For only $10 a square foot you can create a whole new look that lasts for years.

A family tree story for blended families.

Chelsea’s Tree gets rave reviews.

I was thrilled with the whole concept of this book. It not only shows that a child of divorced parents have a larger world of people that are their family, the idea of their having their own special photo albumn is fabulous. I highly recommend this book for any one who has a child in their life that has step parents, cousins, multiple grandparents, etc. Wonderful!

Wow! time flies when you are having fun and living in a nearly 200 year old home sometimes gives my life a “Time warp!” feel.

So did speaking with Elizabeth McClung the Executive Director of Belle Grove Plantation a National Historic site, a stones throw from my house. That is relatively speaking of course. They have a lot of exciting things coming up including exclusive tours and even a Sheep Dog competition.

Adventures for grownups! What a great place to stay.

Allon Lefever of the new Hampton Inn and Suites in Woodstock, Virginia is featured on my morning spots on WSVG 790 AM today and tomorrow. This jewel of a hotel is at Exit 283 on I-81. The place is fabulous! The rich woods and attention to detail in creating a special ambiance is to be commended. We worked closely with Allon to find just the right images to bring a bit of the Shenandoah Valley into the guestrooms. Coming sometime in the 2010 will be a gallery of local images to encourage guests to stay longer and return. Check out the link above to listen to all of our interesting interviews. There is also a link to LtdPrints.com for a 10% discount. Even on our custom prints murals.

A new year means a fresh start!

Wow can you beleive how fast time flys? It has been almost a month since my last post to MyWholeFamily.com’s blog. My son and his wife came for Christmas which was a first at my home here in Virginia. On Dec. 18th or 19th we had a 20 inch snowfall which made the town look like a fairyland and now a light dusting makes it all fresh once again.

I invite you to join me with the new year, new snow and renewed outlook.

This year the book I authored for young stepchildren (Chelsea’s Tree a Family Tree for stepchildren) will be sold out and a second printing be required! Yes I do beleive that is true because Adele Cornish and other internationally known family counslors will get it into the hands of children around the globe. The healing power of love will overcome the resentment many families are plauged with. Go Chelsea! Spread your story near and far so other children can feel safe and loved every day. And Chelsea’s new line of gifts coming in Janaury will appeal to a wider range of folks.

And then there is health. Yikes that is a tough one. Here at the home of My Whole Family.com we have renewed our determination to live a healthier life. Soooooo just because we see it doesn’t mean we eat it! Sweets will be treats, butter for guests, and walking will be easier with the return of the books on tape companion that has now been reclaimed from the cabinet.

So we hope you will join use by joinging the Sierra Club featured on the main page of MyWholeFamily.com. I plan to walk their One Day Hike along the CO again this year. Give me a shout if you’d like to join me!
