With the introduction of TV, the Internet, Cell Phones and social networking many children are now leaving the traditional story book behind. While generations past spent time playing outside, often bringing a book along on a picnic or other outdoor adventure, kids today are seldom exposed to the delight of romping in the fields or hiding in the woods.

Today’s children need more stimulus, more involvement with the reading material to keep them entertained and away from the attraction of those artificial electronic gizmoes. Starting as young as possible is a good way to instill a lifelong habit of reading. Reading while holding a child on your lap or after they are tucked into bed is a perfect way to both bond with your child and help them bond with books. We recommend that you buy sturdy books that the child may feel free to handle in any way. It is important that children are not affraid to hold, cuddle, or even sleep with their books. After all many adults fall asleep with their books each night so remind yourself that it is a lifetime habit of enjoying and appreciating books that you are trying to foster.

A child who learns to love reading books will very soon become aware of their value and often begin to guard them on their own.

Our activity books for stepchildren are sturdy enough to throw in a toy box and nice enough to hug at night. We also have free crafts for kids and games to play. Check us out.
